Bundesplatz Kino will be showing a series of international Kafka adaptations from 22.9-27.10 in cooperation with the German Kulturform of Eastern Europe and Czech Center Berlin. Along with Orson Welles’ THE TRIAL (1962), Jochen Alexander Freydanks THE BURROW (2014) and Michael Haneke’s THE CASTLE (1997), there are two Czech productions in the program: Vladimír Michálek’s adaptation of the novel fragment AMERIKA (1994) and the documentary FRANZ KAFKA ZNÁMÝ NEZNÁMÝ by Pavel Šimák that attempts to reinterpret the relationship between the writer and his work.
