This year, 12 feature-length productions, all Berlin premieres, will compete at the Achtung Berlin Film Festival (10-17.4) and the New Berlin Film Awards. The opening film of the 20th edition is MILCHZÄHNE by Sophia Bösch adapted from the novel by Helene Bukowski. The German-Swiss dystopian feature film is about Skalde (Mathilde Bundschuh), who comes into conflict with the residents of her village after taking in a lonely girl. The documentary selection also has a central focus on the question of life paths and communities. Many films are about living spaces: In BIS DIE SONNE STIRBT (Director: Jonas Brander), Albeiro, organizes peaceful protests in the Colombian Cauca region for the safety of his people, the indigenous Nasa people. In HAUSNUMMER NULL, Lillith Kugler portrays Chris, who has been living as a homeless man in Berlin for many years. All in all, the festival for new German cinema from Berlin and Brandenburg will be showing 70 feature films and documentary in nine venues in Berlin in its anniversary edition: Acud Kino, Babylon, City Kino Wedding, fsk-Kino, il Kino, Lichtblick, Union, and Wolf.
