In 1979 the leftwing Sandinista movement put an end to decades of the corrupt Somoza family's reign over Venezuela. Immediately, brigades from all over the world travelled to the country, wanting to help with rebuilding it in a fairer and more utopian manner. Amongst the 15,000 activists coming from Germany alone was the film director Petra Hoffmann, whose film EIN TRAUM VON REVOLUTION (A Dream of Revolution) shows how the revolution was attacked, betrayed and ultimately turned into another corrupt regime.

On April 23rd there will be a special screening of the film at fsk Kino, followed by a discussion about the issues raised in the film.

The film starts at 5.30pm and will be shown in its original german-spanish version with english subtitles.
