Along with the international and German competition, the 7th edition of the Festival of Animation Berlin also includes a “Pink Panda“ competition for pre-schoolers and elementary school children and the “New Talents“ competition for student films. This year, the focus of the festival is on pop-up festivals like London‘s Factual Animation Film Festival. The film program includes over 100 animated films and the accompanying program offers workshops, masterclasses, a pitching session as well as the Animation Expanded exhibit “FAB Dimensional“ in silent green (free entry). The exhibit shows works that explore immersive and interactive animation, question linear narratives or completely do without them. A new element is the Animation HUB which includes events for animation professionals. There are parties in the evenings, the opening on 29.9 will feature Berlin rapper Infidelix.
