Based on the true-life story of Mark Hogancamp. WELCOME TO MARWEN describes how an artist recovered from a traumatic assault by projecting his anxieties and dreams into a world of dolls and models.
After suffering a life-threatening beating, artist Mark Hogancamp is aided in his recovery by building a doll-sized village called "Marwencol". Here he learns to cope with his PTSD by projecting his fears and feelings into a WWII-time caper filled with strong, beautiful women and evil Nazis.
