One day, businessman Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik) is being abducted and kept for 15 years in an isolated cell. His release comes and unexpected as his capture and he is faced with an ultimatum: If he cannot find his captor within five days, he will kill himself and deprive Dae-sun of ever knowing the reasons for his imprisonment. With the help of a young sushi chef and a hammer, Dae-su embarks on a roaring rampage of revenge.
