Following the songs of singing digger driver Gerhard Gundermann, the documentary explores the Lausitz region where Gundermann worked and which inspired him to some of his music. Even when he was becoming famous, he always felt connected to his region and its people. Fellow musicians are interviewed, as well as relatives and friends.
