A remastered version of Jane Campion's musical drama.
New Zealand in the mid-19th century: A mute woman, Ada, is sent to New Zealand for an arranged marriage. She arrives with her daughter and her most cherished item, her piano. Ada communicates using her piano but the conditions in her new home mean that she must leave her beloved instrument on the beach.
